-Initiate and develop team spirit and moral within team
-Visit each merchandiser/route at least once a week

-Implement merchandiser training on product knowledge and technical skills
-Develop merchandisers and shelf Packers through individual attention
-Conduct twice yearly appraisals on all team members
Maintenance of Merchandising Standards

-Conduct Floor walks across all categories and Principals
-Check stock rotation and expiry dates
-Check product quality and packaging – report issues to Principals
-Confirm promotional brief implementation and signage
-Check PI labels and ensure that they are in place
-Check OOS`s and take remedial action where required
-Note issues for follow-up action and communication
-Take corrective action with Merchandiser in cases of non-compliance or poor standards
Returns Control

-Check back-up areas and returns bin to ensure regular upliftment
-Monitor and control Returns, within targeted range and take action to rectify as required
-Check and sign Merchandiser`s returns book
Development and Maintenance of Customer Relations

-Develop and maintain relationships across all in-store departments, including all service areas
-Review sales performance by store, with relevant store mangmt, quarterly
-Review sales performance by product category, with relevant principals, monthly
-Follow-up customer/store complaints or problems, timorously
-Conduct trade visits with principals, on a regular/scheduled basis
-Review service levels to stores regularly, including extended trading hours
Promotions
10%
-Ensure all promotional activity is implemented, as per suppliers brief, on time
-Make sure stock pressure on all products
-Maximise promotional opportunities through exposure and stock availability
-Ensure that manufactures receive objective feedback on the effectiveness of promos
Planning
5%
-Attend weekly ops meeting with the Sales Manager
-Plan leave roster and relief cover, for all team members
-Participate in the development of the retail sales strat-plan
Plan effective and structured monthly team briefings
