Events Manager | JHB – Parkhurst | Events Company

We are seeking an experienced EVENTS MANAGER to join the dynamic events team based in Parkhurst. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of experience in the events industry and will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of high-quality events, from planning to post-event evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Coordination: Oversee the management and execution of scheduled events.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Organize meetings, set agendas, take minutes, and distribute them to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Supplier & Venue Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and venues to ensure smooth execution of events.
  • Client Liaison: Professionally manage ongoing communication with clients.
  • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and reconcile event budgets.
  • Delegate Management: Oversee the invitation and RSVP process, ensuring smooth management of delegate logistics.
  • Promotional & Design Management: Source and manage promotional items, signage, branding, and collateral design for events.
  • AV & Entertainment: Coordinate audiovisual requirements and entertainment, ensuring all elements meet event needs.
  • Crew & Event Management: Brief and manage event crews, troubleshoot on-site issues, and ensure seamless event execution.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations, including budget reconciliations and feedback reports.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the event industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for preparing budgets, quotes, and reconciling expenses.
  • Experience preparing PowerPoint presentations for event pitches.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially during event setup, execution, and post-event wrap-up.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular office hours, including weekends and after hours as necessary.
Additional Details:
  • National travel may be required for specific events.
  • Due to the nature of the industry, overtime will not be paid as the salary offered is above the required threshold for overtime compensation.
Salary package:
  • Gross approx. ZAR 29000
  • Petrol and cell phone cost reimbursement
